That’s a Big Bird!

I don’t really consider myself a bird watcher, but I’ve been more interested in the feathered friends at our house the past few years. Our yard is full of big, mature trees, and it attracts a lot of birds. I especially enjoy the cardinals in the winter and the flickers and goldfinches in the summer. Today, while I was sitting at my computer, I looked up to see a huge hawk in one of the oaks. This is the largest hawk I’ve ever seen. Have to say, he’s pretty cool, and I hope he returns often for a squirrel meal! Any birds at your place?

  1. I can’t say for certain, but i think the birds fluff up in the winter to stay warm, so they look bigger than they are. I once saw a very big robin — but most was feather fluff.
